Florida:
Obama (D) 51%

The bad news: North Carolina is a tie.

The good news: North Carolina is a tie! And better yet, Obama now leads in Missouri! If Obama wins The Show-Me State, this election is OVER. Same goes for Ohio, where Ras for the first time shows Obama ahead. And finally, Obama's leads in both Virginia & Florida seem to be stabilizing.

Conclusion: This map being shown by Rasmussen is simply remarkable! If this holds up, Obama wins hands down. Let's make sure this dream becomes reality! :-)

The bad news: Can't find any here!

The good news: Obama +6 in BOTH Ohio AND North Carolina?! Whoa! We have more polls confirming an Obama lead in both crucial swing states. Obama continues to expand his electoral vote lead as he offers real solutions on the economic crisis while McCain rummages through the bottom of the barrel to toss everything INCLUDING the kitchen sink at Obama.

Conclusion: Barack Obama is now not only pulling away in the national polls, but with the electoral map as well! Obama now stands a good chance of winning in an electoral landslide. We just need to keep up the good work, and the Obama campaign needs to stay on the offense and keep offering real solutions on the economy... And we'll win BIG!! :-)

Oh, yeah! We have ourselves some juicy new polling from North Carolina (Rasmussen) and New Mexico (Survey USA)!

North Carolina:
Obama (D) 50%
McCain (R) 47%

New Mexico:
Obama (D) 52%
McCain (R) 44%

The bad news: None here!

The good news: North Carolina has DEFINITELY shifted toward Obama in the last couple of weeks! If this holds up, Obama will have a HUGE advantage with the electoral map that McCain may not be able to surmount. Meanwhile, New Mexico now looks like a near shoo-in for Obama. His lead in the polls here has consistently been 7-12%, so there's probably little to no reason for McCain to continue spending money here. Obama's winning the Latino vote by 37% and the Native American vote by 33%, so that more than makes up for the close race among Anglo voters.

Conclusion: In the last 72 hours, we've been discovering an electoral map that has shifted dramatically in Obama's favor. Now yes, we still have a month for that to change. But since attitudes are now starting to harden in the final stretch, McCain's options for "game changers" are becoming increasingly limited. If Obama stays strong and on message, Democrats will win! :-)

Obama Up in North Carolina? Yes!

In case you missed DCDemocrat's post, Public Policy Polling has a new North Carolina poll out. You've got to see it to believe it!

Obama (D) 47%
McCain (R) 45%
Barr (Lib) 3%

Whoa! Could this be the beginning of a McCrash? He really bombed today in taking credit for "the success of the bailout bill" this morning... Then shifting to blame Obama when the bill failed in the House. Since a full 64% of North Carolinians view the economy as Issue #1, they're paying attention to what happens with this financial crisis. And with every new day of downright psychotic McCrazy behavior, his poll numbers fall some more.

And with Charlotte being the nation's #2 banking hub (after New York), McCrash may be burning himself now.

BONUS: In the Senate race, Kay Hagan now has an 8% lead over "Free Liddy" Dole!

I just love this idea. If only we can just "free" more of these Republicans from the jobs they don't seem to like. ;-)

North Carolina Turning Blue?

Fresh new numbers from Public Policy Polling (via Swing State Project) show some encouraging signs:

President:
Obama (D) 46%
McCain (R) 46%

Senate:
Hagan (D) 46%
Dole (R-inc) 41%

The more I look at this state, the more I think we have real opportunities here. The recent economic news has refocused attention on our need for change that works for working people, and that's what's helping both Obama and Kay Hagan here in The Tar Heel State. Not only can Obama expand the map for us here, but Kay Hagan can also help us expand our Senate majority.

But hey, let's remember that change isn't cheap! The GOP will be trying hard to derail us, so let's make sure our Democrats have what it takes to fight & win here! We can win North Carolina. With all of us pitching in, I know we can do it. Yes, we will! :-)

Yes, North Carolina IS a Swing State!

Whoops! The GOP may have celebrated too soon. Just when they thought they had the state locked down, Public Policy Polling releases a new poll showing otherwise.

North Carolina:

President-
McCain 48%
Obama 44%

Senate-
Hagan (D) 43%
Dole (R-inc) 42%

Uh-oh. Not only is McCain underperforming past GOP candidates, but the GOP stands to possibly lose a Senate seat here as well. If we support our Democrats here, we can win. :-)
