Don't Swift Boat Our Community Organizers!

"I have actual responsibilities, said Jacqueline del Valle," a community organizer in the Bronx. "If Mayor Giuliani and President Bush cared more about working people instead of just people who can hire high-powered lobbyists, maybe I wouldnt have so much responsibility.  Maybe working people would have an easier time in America today.  But thats not our reality, and they dont have to mock us while were trying to clean up their mess."
Today, I found a great new blog called Organizers Fight Back. Here, we see the truth that the Rethuglican fat cat elitists don't want us to see. They think they can mock Barack Obama for working to help the community as a young man, but we know better. We can't let them get away with their ugly smears.

In case you missed it, a slew of speakers at the GOP Convention last night tried to make "community organizer" into some dirty job that anyone would be ashamed of. Rudy Giuliani mocked Obama for having "problems with his resume", while Sarah Palin actually mocked organizers as "having no responsibilities". Maybe from their vantage points as ultra-rich oligarchs that don't know what it's like to live paycheck to paycheck, these Republicans don't think community organizers do anything important. But for the rest of us, we know better.

I have friends myself who have worked hard as community organizers. Through their blood, sweat, and 24/7 nonstop work, they've helped protect the environment, get more affordable housing built, improve our schools, and help workers get the living wage they deserve. I know better, so I refuse to allow these Republican attacks on grassroots local organizers go unchallenged.

We all know of Barack Obama and his work as a community organizer. He actually worked hard to bring about real change for the better in his community in Chicago. He worked to help out workers who lost their jobs at the steel mills. He worked hard to help working families get the affordable housing they deserve. And for Republicans like John McCain and Sarah Palin to mock that while they hide their own ugly truth of putting the wants of the powerful over the needs of the people, that's just outright despicable.

If the Republicans plan to make "community organizer" into some new veiled racist attack, we won't let them. Of the Republicans want to mock Barack Obama's record of service to the people, we won't let them. I've seen far too many ugly, disgusting right-wing attacks go unanswered in the past, so I refuse to stay silent as I see another "swift boat" style smear rear it's ghastly head. I hope you'll all join me.

Let's fight the smears. Let's help truth fight back. Let's stand up for community organizers, for real agents of change like Barack Obama, and let's take our country back from the lying GOP elitists!

John "Eldon Smith" McBush

OK, so you thought you knew John McBush? Try again! He's been living the eliist lifestyle for quite a while now... Even when he was supposed to live in the Congressional District he was then representing!

Oh yes, and does he have multiple personalities? What's with Eldon Smith? ;-)

Obama-Biden '08 for a Better America

(Proudly cross-posted at Clark COmmunity Network & Democratic PartyBuilder)

"This may be our last chance to reclaim the America we love, to restore the America we know." - Joe Biden, Our Next Vice President

Like everyone else around here, I was paying close attention to the very first Obama-Biden joint campaign appearance today. I wanted to see what Biden would say.

And I must admit that I was impressed with what Obama said today...

As well as what Biden said...

Was this ticket my first pick? Obviously not. But am I ready to work like hell to ensure the Obama-Biden ticket is the winning ticket this fall? You bet I will!

Why? I don't want another elitist celebrity Rethuglican in the White House. He may sound like a good ol' all-American regular guy, but John McCain isn't...

No really. He isn't. Take a look.

We can't afford another four years of this nonsense. We don't need another four years of Bush-Cheney madness. We need change we can believe in, not more of the same unbelievable right-wing extremism that hurts working families.

We need leaders like Barack Obama. We need leaders like Joe Biden. We need change that works for working people. We need change that helps rebuild all the wonderful things about this nation that Bush has broken. We need Obama & Biden in the White House to clean house and restore America's greatness.

So if you can, please join us in supporting Obama-Biden '08. We must stand together now if we want to win this year. We must support our Democratic team now. I hope we'll all be working together now to make real change happen. :-)

McCain = Bush = Out-of-Touch Elitist

Need I say more?

Really... Does McCain know how bad we ordinary people have it?

Does he?

Spread the word. Any time some GOP operative "PUMA" tells you otherwise, show 'em the evidence.

John McCain: All Celebrity Hype, No Real Change

(Proudly cross-posted at Clark Community Network)

He's one of the biggest celebrities in Washington, DC. He's beloved by the Beltway Insider establishment. He'd rather schmooze with big media than connect with us regular people on the major issues.

Beware: This DC celebrity is dangerous. He's even more shallow than Paris Hilton.

I'm sure you've seen this by now:

And come on, you know it's true. McCain comes from a party known to promote empty-headed celebrities. Mccain always craves complete media attention on him. McCain even has celebrity anger management problems!

McCain may be trying now to make us ignore his own celebrity status as he attacks Barack Obama's "celebrity fame", but let's not fall into that trap. McCain's the real celebrity elitist. McCain's the real media darling. McCain's the one who's actually out of touch with working-class Americans.

So let's not forget about the real facts on McCain. Let's spread the word on these real facts. Oh yes, and let's make sure Obama has enough resources to continue getting the truth out.
