Boycott Amazon!

In case you haven't seen it yet, Queerty has the news on the big change at amazon.com.

Are gay books any more "adult" than straight ones? Amazon.com seems to think so. The web retailer has mysteriously begun re-classifying gay-themed books — novels, parenting guides, self-help titles, and even biographies — as "adult," while stripping the sales ranking data (the figure that tells you how well a particular title is selling compared to other books) from them as well.

Amazon is now reclassifying all LGBT books as "adult". And no, I'm not just talking about sexual materials. Believe it or not, even "coming out" books, child-rearing books, suicide prevention books, and even biographies of LGBT people are now considered "X rated" at Amazon. So next time you want to buy a book, go to your local independent bookstore or powells.com. Make sure to let Amazon know we don't appreciate them labeling our entire community as "indecent".

How Nevada's Republican Governor "Respects the Sanctity of Marriage"

Yes, that's all for real. So how come the radical right screams about how loving gay & lesbian couples threaten other people's committed relationships but never complains about this? Just wonderin'...

UPDATE: There will be a committee vote in the Nevada Senate on SB 283, the domestic partnership bill. If you're in The Silver State, please call or email your legislator in support of SB 283!

"JtP": The New JLo? KFed? TI?

Is this snark? Will he start dating Paris Hilton? And will he soon be on "Dancing With the Stars"?

Serious questions. hehe ;-)

"We Got 'Em Where We Want 'Em"?

Taylor has a good point today. The McBush-Failin' campaign has simply become delusional & out of touch with reality now. It's almost sad to see. Maybe if McBush hadn't sunk this low by trying to resorting to gutter tactics, I'd feel sorry for them now.

Too bad.

Whoops, They Did It Again!

First, it was Sarah "Lying Sack of Shit" Palin. Now, it's Joe McCain! Yes, John McCain's brother now says that John McCain will authorize special forces to go across the border from Afghanistan into Pakistan to go after al-Qaeda. Even though McCain mocked Barack Obama for doing the same, his surrogates all seem to be endorsing the Obama Plan to take on al-Qaeda terrorists!

Wow, and I thought McCain was "The National Security Candidate™"! So why is it that McCain's campaign is stealing foreign policy & national security ideas from Barack Obama? Score another point for Republican hypocrisy!

Loserman Has His Priorities Set

Really! The Original "PUMA McTroll", Sen. Joe Loserman (IDR-Sleaze), knows why we must pass the bailout bill. Why? Well, "it's good for McCain".

'Nuff said. It's time to dump Loserman. Do it when we have enough votes in the Senate to really make him irrelevant. ;-)

McHypocrite Strikes Again!

So McBush won't "play the partisan blame game" on the financial rescue plan turmoil? Oh, really??!! I guess campaign surrogate Rudy "Noun, Verb, 9/11" Giuliani didn't get the memo.

Oops!

No Suspension for McLiar

Oh, jeez! McBush's campaign ads will be pulled today... Only to be put back on the air tomorrow! So really, there's no "suspension" happening here. McBush is just pulling another media stunt to get attention.

No "Suspension" of Palin Campaign

Whoops! I guess Sarah Palin didn't get the memo. While the McCain campaign has supposedly been "suspended", what is Sarah Palin doing? Oh, just CAMPAIGNING!

Cheese louise, the hypocrisy.

McHypocrite

OK, so McBush has "suspended his campaign"... To speak at the Clinton Global Initiative meeting in New York to shower flowery praise upon President Clinton? OK, so not only is McBush is hypocrite for not really suspending his campaign. He's now also a hypocrite for smiling at Bill Clinton after stabbing him in the back repeatedly!

Remember when McBush said that Chelsea Clinton was ugly "because Janet Reno is her father"? Remember when he laughed after one of his supporters called Hillary Clinton "the bitch"? Remember WHEN HE VOTED TO IMPEACH PRESIDENT CLINTON IN 1999??!! And now, we're supposed to believe him when he says he likes Bill Clinton?

Gimme a f**king break! I'm not buying this new line of McCrap. It's obvious that McLiar will say or do anything to win. So much for "I'd rather lose an election than lose my honor".

Guess what? I'll work to make sure McBush loses BOTH!

Filthy Rich Elitist Says Obama Is Too "Elitist"

No, I'm not kidding! Supposed Hillary Clinton supporter Lady Lynn Forrester de Rothschild actually says she can't support Obama because she says he's an "elitist". Uh-huh... And Lady Lynn is the woman of the people!

Why do I have a feeling that this won't hurt Barack Obama one bit? ;-)

A Must Read

The Wannabe American Idols

Roger Ebert has written a new critique on the two aspiring celebrities hoping to become stars in a different way. They're willing to lie, cheat, and steal to make it to the top. And the worst part? They have no talent.

What If Sarah Palin's Daughter Needed a Home?

Would a McCain-Palin Administration deny her that? Is this what "compassionate conservatism" looks like? Where's the compassion for young mothers in need of a safe home?

Oh, the hypocrisy of the GOP.

So McBush Doesn't Mind "The B Word"?

Remember when John McCain laughed when one of his supporters asked, "How do we beat the bitch (referring to Hillary Clinton)?" Well, his VP nominee thinks it's a joke to call an Alaska State Senator "a bitch" and "a cancer". Oh yes, and the GOP wants to call us "sexist" whenever we question McCain's decision to make Sarah Palin VP? What about real misogyny, like publicly degrading women elected officials?

Republican hypocrisy in action!

Whoops! Sarah Palin Told a Fib on That "Bridge to Nowhere"

Like P nominee, like VP nominee:

Today, the 20-month governor of Alaska said the following:

"And I championed reform to end the abuses of earmark spending by Congress. In fact, I told Congress -- I told Congress, 'Thanks, but no thanks,' on that bridge to nowhere. If our state wanted a bridge, I said we'd build it ourselves."

This is a misstatement:

She did not oppose the bridge to nowhere.

Here's what she told the Anchorage Daily News on October 22, 2006, late in the race for the governor's seat (via Nexis):

Would you continue state funding for the proposed Knik Arm and Gravina Island bridges?

"Yes. I would like to see Alaska's infrastructure projects built sooner rather than later. The window is now--while our congressional delegation is in a strong position to assist."

So she was very much for the bridge and insisted that Alaska had to act quickly-the party of Ted Stevens and Don Young might soon lose its majority, after all.

Uh oh! There goes Palin's "maverick" credentials! Well, she's following some great footsteps. I mean, hasn't her running mate John McBush done the same... On just about EVERYTHING??!!

Sarah Palin: Hillary's Just a "Whiner"

OK, so let's see what Sarah Palin really thinks about Hillary!

Can anyone say "McHypocrite"?

McBush Picks Sarah Palin for VP

Yes, it's for real! McBush has picked a corrupt Alaska Governor with virtually no executive experience and no foreign policy experience at all. Oh yes, and she's also virulently anti-choice, anti-queer, anti-environment, anti-middle class, anti-fiscal sanity, and all around radical right!

Woo-hoo for Rethuglicans!

The Other Hensley

Why won't Cindy talk about her half-sister?

Or her nephews? Wow. Now wonder why they're all voting for Barack Obama. Is this what Republican "family values" is really about? Disowning one's own family?
Well, I guess it explains why John McCain left his own wife to the wayside for Cindy and her family's many millions of $$$$. I wonder how the media would treat this story if it were Barack Obama's family being disowned. I bet they'd pay more attention.

McBush the Elitist

Here. Take a look.
