Yes, it's for real! McBush has picked a corrupt Alaska Governor with virtually no executive experience and no foreign policy experience at all. Oh yes, and she's also virulently anti-choice, anti-queer, anti-environment, anti-middle class, anti-fiscal sanity, and all around radical right!
Woo-hoo for Rethuglicans!

BREAKING: IT'S OBAMA-BIDEN '08!!
This just in from HuffPo! Congrats to Joe Biden! He may not have been my first pick for VP, but I've always liked him. He's smarter than hell & he'll do a whole lot to help Barack win. :-)
Joe Biden Is Obama's Vice Presidential Running Mate
WASHINGTON -- Sen. Joe Biden of Delaware is Barack Obama's pick as vice presidential running mate, The Associated Press has learned.
Biden, 65, is a veteran of more than three decades in the Senate, and one of his party's leading experts on foreign policy, an area in which polls indicate Obama needs help in his race against Republican rival John McCain.

A Clue to Help Our VP Madness?
Check out this juicy tidbit in Time's Swampland blog. Is Karen Tumulty onto something? Or is this just more worthless media speculation?
Well, I have a guess as to who the "surprise pick" may be... ;-)

No 'Mo VP Madness on Wednesday?
Hmmm... So VP Madness may end on Wednesday? Again, no one really knows. Already, MSNBC is saying we won't know Obama's VP until the end of this week.
And on that note, VP Madness continues! ;-)

VP Madness... To Come to an End Soon?
Here's something interesting I found this morning at Political Wire. There's even more speculation about Barack Obama possibly revealing his VP pick this week. But then again, we don't know for sure.
So what does this mean? We still don't know... And VP Madness continues for another day.

Barack Slipping... Does He Now Need Hillary?
I'm sure you've seen some of the recent polls. And yes, Obama's been slipping from slight lead to dead heat. This was not what Democrats were hoping for earlier this year.
But hold on... Can there be a silver lining here? Possibly. Out of political neccessity, we may end up with "The Dream Ticket".
OK, so what am I talking about? Look at this map. See how well Hillary Clinton was doing against John McBush in most of the swing states where Obama's struggling now? And come on, don't we need a boost now in New Hampshire, Ohio, Florida, & Nevada? And shouldn't we give McBush a run for his money in West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, & Arkansas?
I've said it before, and I'll say it again now. An Obama/Clinton ticket will crush the Rethuglicans in a landslide this fall! Democrats must win this fall for the good of this nation, and a Barack/Hillary dream ticket is exactly what we need now to guarantee victory in November.
So do you feel the same way I do? If so, we still have time to make noise. Let's make sure we win this fall. :-)

VP Madness: JOHN KERRY??!!
I usually value The Democratic Daily as a terrific progressive blog that I don't think gets all the attention it deserves. So imagine my surprise today when Pamela Leavey wrote this on John Kerry possibly being picked as Obama's VP. OK, you can stop laughing now. Really, STOP LAUGHING!! :-D
Seriously, rumors are spreading about John Kerry being given a second chance by Barack Obama. Would it be smart? Would it be crazy? Would Kerry strengthen Obama's foreign policy credentials? Would Kerry weaken Obama's "change" message?
So what do you think of our friend Pamela's idea of a VP John Kerry?

VP Madness
Yesterday, the speaking schedule for the Wednesday night of the Democratic Convention was released. Apparently, both Sen. Evan Bayh (D-IN) & Sen. Joe Biden (D-DE) will be speaking on this night. And already, the pundit class is chattering as Wednesday is also supposed to be "VP night"... And both of these people have been mentioned as "short list" VP picks.
So do we have an idea now on who will be Obama's VP? Or is the media making something out of nothing? I dunno... I still have a feeling we may be in for a HUGE surprise. ;-)
