Brought to you by TPM Election Central!
SurveyUSA of Georgia:
McCain (R) 51%
Obama (D) 43%
Marist College:
Ohio-
Obama (D) 49%
McCain (R) 45%
Pennsylvania-
Obama (D) 53%
McCain (R) 41%
The bad news: I guess Georgia is still an uphill climb for Obama.
The good news: Fortunately, Obama doesn't need Georgia to win! After all, look at Ohio & Pennsylvania. Ohio still looks close, but Marist still confirms the general trend of Ohio moving toward Obama. Meanwhile, we may as well stick a fork in the McBush campaign in The Keystone State. With Obama now consistently polling 8-14% ahead of McCain in Pennsylvania, it looks like this state's becoming safer for Obama by the week.
Conclusion: Overall, the electoral map seems to be firming up. Other than a few exceptions like West Virginia and North Dakota, "Solid Red States" that had consistently been safe for McBush are staying that way. Meanwhile, Obama has solidified all his "Solid Blue States" that looked pretty good for us. What's really making the difference today is that nearly all the swing states are now trending toward Obama. "Purplish Blue States" like Pennsylvania & New Hampshire that posed problems earlier are now strongly in Obama's column while previously "Purplish Red States" like Colorado & Virginia that were fiercely competitive early this year are now also strongly in Obama's column. If this holds up, then Obama & all of us will have a great night on November 4! :-)

Marist Sez: Obama Has the Edge
Here's the new Marist national poll:
Obama (D) 49%
McCain (R) 44%
Independents are breaking for Obama 50-38, Obama holds the edge on "who has the plan for change", and Obama voters are more enthusiastic than McCain voters. That's why Obama has the edge here. Another day, another good poll.
I wonder what McBush will do next to cause a commotion and try to "pull a game-changer"... ;-)

More States of the Race: Phew!
Yes, I know C4O has been flooded with new polls for the last few days. But hey, what can we do? We're just trying not to drown in it! ;-)
Btw, here are the new Marist Battleground Polls (via TPM):
Michigan:
Obama 52%
McCain 43%
Ohio:
Obama 47%
McCain 45%
Pennsylvania:
Obama 49%
McCain 44%
Phew!
The bad news: I can't see any.
The good news: This is another poll out this week that shows Obama slightly in Ohio, so it looks like the current financial turmoil may be helping to swing The Buckeye State back toward Obama. Meanwhile, the new polls from Michigan and Pennsylvania are truly welcome news. With other polls from earlier this week (conducted before the Lehman-Merrill-AIG crisis made headlines) suggesting a VERY tight race in these two states, Marist now suggests that like Ohio, the recent financial crisis may be moving Michigan & Pennsylvania back into Obama's column.
Conclusion: With Marist now chiming in, we can safely conclude that Ohio is DEFINITELY a "toss-up state" that we can win. And while I'm not yet ready to conclude that we're all clear in Michigan & Pennsylvania, it does look like Obama still has a slight edge in these Blue States we need to keep blue. Overall, the states of the race look good up in Great Lakes Country. :-)
