Watch Out! Western CPAC Is Coming to Town!

(Proudly cross-posted at OC Progressive)

I just received this in my inbox, and I can't help sharing it with you. I had the freakiest experience of my life when I attended the 2007 CPAC Dinner after receiving an invitation from a friend. Everyone was foaming at the mouth when Tom McClintock was screaming about how evil Al Gore is by "telling lies about the great global warming hoax". And honestly, Steve Poizner was no better when he screamed about how everyone else in Sacramento is an evil "tax-and-spend lib'rul!!!!"

But in case you're the curious type that likes hearing what the other side is saying, this is the event for you. Just make sure you can find a Republican friend who can get you in for free. 'Cuz believe me, you don't want to pay to have those Howard Jarvis crazies harass you with their "literature"! ;-)

"Bored, Anonymous, Pathetic Bloggers Who Lie"

Yikes. Sarah Palin sticks her foot in her mouth again. Will she ever stop? Perhaps not, so she'll keep me laughing my @ss off. ;-)

And the Winner Is...

"Slumdog Millionaire"? Kate Winslet? Mickey Rourke? TalkLeft has a good round-up of the Golden Globes.

Did you watch the award show? I did, and I must admit it wasn't quite as fun as what I was hoping for. Still, I was glad to see "Vicky Christina Barcelona" recognized for the brilliant film it is. ;-)

O Canada

Their election was only six weeks ago. But already, it looks like they'll have a change of government. Why?

Simple. That's what a parliamentary democracy is all about. Larger parties & smaller parties can form coalitions to oust incumbent plurality-but-still-minority governments if they're not working.

Wow, if only America could be a parliamentary democracy... ;-)

McBush Pulling the Plug on Nevada to Dress Up Failin'?

Not yet... But they have cut back on their Nevada campaign. What shocks me the most is that they have yet to pay for & execute the live paid calls (you know, the "OSAMA OBAMA PALS AROUND WITH TERRORISTS!" bullshit) in Las Vegas that they ordered some two months ago.

So apparently, they can't afford to make the ugly attack calls in Vegas... But they can afford to buy $150,000 worth of ugly AND expensive clothes for Sarah Failin' at Saks, Neiman, Macy's, & Bloomingdales??!! Wow, talk about "fiscal conservatism" being thrown out the window!

But hey, if they'd rather play "Extreme Makeover" with Failin' than win Nevada, I'm happy with this. I'm sure Barack Obama awfully appreciates those extra 5 electoral votes. ;-)

At Least She'll Have a Job After the Election

Well, we need not worry about Sarah Palin's well being after the election. SNL Creator Lorne Michaels has the solution: Give Sarah Palin her own sitcom! Yeah, how about having her star in a spin-off of "30 Rock"? Or better yet, how about getting ABC to add her to the line-up of "Desperate Housewives"?

I think Sarah Palin will be a perfect fit for Wisteria Lane. :-D

Republicans in Chaos

I love it! Now they're the ones looking like chickens with their heads cut off. Let's hope they stay this disheveled in the next 12 days. ;-)

Something to Cheer You Up

Dammit, today's been horrible. The Dow fell another 6% and the Nasdaq another 9% over the collapse of the financial recovery bill. The Republicans are now trying to use this to scare us all again... Though fortunately now, we all know this is all their fault (see how wonderfully deregulation works?). And to make things worse, I'm still feeling tired & sick now.

But hey, let me help if you need a reason to smile now. Because I love you all so much, I'm sharing all my Las Vegas pics with you! Please enjoy. And yes, I'll make sure to have a full report tomorrow. :-)

John Kerry: Extreme Biker

Don't believe me? Read this. It's too bad he didn't challenge Bush to a ride-off four years ago. Kerry probably would have won... The election, too! ;-)

Another Day, Another McCain-Palin Scandal

Yowzer! The fun just doesn't stop!

The campaign of Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., likes to herald the independence of its new running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.

Officials of the Alaskan Independence Party say that Palin was once so independent, she was once a member of their party, which, since the 1970s, has been pushing for a legal vote for Alaskans to decide whether or not residents of the 49th state can secede from the United States.
And while McCain's motto -- as seen in a new TV ad -- is "Country First," the AIP's motto is the exact opposite -- "Alaska First -- Alaska Always."

Yippee! So will McCain have to flip-flop again, this time on whether to let Alaska secede from The Union? ;-)

Happy 72nd Birthday!

Seventy-two years ago today, on August 29, 1936, in the midst of the Great Depression, just four years after the TV had been invented and five years before the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, Senator John McCain was born.

Senator McCain, I may be opposing you and your agenda for turning America back to the 19th century, but I am not without class. I did get you this lovely gift that I am sure will come in handy today.

Please leave your birthday message for John McCain here!

If I want to obsess over the John Edwards affair, I can do it. He's a cheater and a skank, just like the rest of the Democrat Party. Because I am part of Democrat Party, I can use my free speech to bash Edwards.

If I want to show the whole damn f***ing world that Hillary Clinton is a lying, cheating, conniving f**ing b***h c***, that is my right. The f***ing Democrat Party is the f***ing free speech party, so I don't want to be a part of your f***ing revolution if I can't rant all I want. If I want to use this site to promote my theory that Barack Hussein Obama is a black liberation Christianist, secret Islamofascist, and undercover godless atheist who is out to do the dirty work of the Trilateral Commission and conquer the world, I can do it here. Isn't this a Democrat blog? Democrat Party is all about free speech, so I can just say no deal and tell you all party unity my ass.

Oh yes, and have you seen the new poll? McCain is up 1000%! McCain will win. The Democrat Party is doomed. McCain will win. I am Democrat Party, and I know McCain will win.

See, I Told You So!

Sorry guys, I can't help it. From Rasmussen:

At a time when Obama and McCain are locked in a tight race, the poll shows that Obama would rout President Bush 54% to 34%. Looking at the Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll, McCain is outperforming Bush by more than 15 percentage points.

The poll results also show that Obama would have an easier go of it against two of McCain’s chief rivals for the Republican nomination. The presumptive Democratic nominee leads former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney by eight points 49% to 41% and former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee 50% to 39%.

However, McCain fares better against Obama than he does against two other prominent Democrats. New York Senator Hillary Clinton leads McCain by eight points, 50% to 42%. Former Vice President Al Gore, the Democratic presidential nominee in 2000, leads McCain 50% to 43%.

These numbers help explain why Election 2008 is competitive even though events so heavily favor the Democrats -- because the Republicans are on course to nominate their strongest possible general election candidate but the Democrats are not. Perhaps even more importantly, the data suggests that voters don’t see a potential McCain Administration as the third term of President Bush.

Weekend Open Thread

Hey, everyone! Have you had as wild a week as I've had this week? If you have, then take off your shoes, grab a comfy seat, and enjoy your weekend here with us!

Have you been thanked yet? Hillary recently thanked us for all our hard work for her. Here, take a look.

And would like to have lunch with Barack? OK, well maybe we can't in person... Just yet. But here, take a looky at a recent lunch date in Indiana.

There... Doesn't that make you feel better? Or hungry? OK, let's get out some munchies and chat for while.

Oh yes, and have a great weekend! :-)
