Superdelegate Hillary Clinton To Vote for Obama

Reports across the World Wide Web are announcing that Hillary's name will be put in nomination at the Democratic National Convention. We learn:
Senator Obama’s campaign encouraged Senator Clinton's name to be placed in nomination as a show of unity and in recognition of the historic race she ran and the fact that she was the first woman to compete in all of our nation’s primary contests.
Hillary Clinton, of course, is a superdelegate. She will use her vote to assist in Barack Obama's nomination as the Democratic candidate for president of the United States.

I'm not buying it.

The press is not covering the fact that on August 3, 2008, Obama wrote the Credentials Committee asking that the delegates from Michigan and Florida get their full votes cast at the convention.

This would mean then that if those votes are counted, that Obama is only 55 votes ahead of Hillary---not counting super delegates.

Why should Hillary sit back and agree to lose to Obama at that point?

She could walk away with a surprise nomination folks. Watch for this. The rules allow it.

Don't count on it. I don't know where you're getting your figures from, but it's over. Hillary has already endorsed Barack. If you're looking for a different result at the convention, don't hold your breath.

I will continue to hope and pray that everything goes as smoothly as possible with the vote. I know some Hillary delegates publicly switched to Obama when Hillary suspended her campaign, and if they stick to that decision there will be a significant gap in the totals each ends up with. I just don't want Hillary to be embarrassed, which is what I fear may happen. I trust her when she said she now supports Obama, so I am cautiously optimistic that she will stand by this statement and do what is best for the party's chances in November - reinforce the concept of unity.
