Iowa Supreme Courts Rules in Favor of Marriage Equality!

I just wonder when California, New York, and a host of other states will come to their senses (once and for all). Are CA's Supremes noticing the language in the ruling? Is Vermont's Governor noticing? What will it take for Prop H8, Arizona's Prop 102, Florida's Amendment 2, and all those other H8ful measures to go down?

Well, at least Iowa has now allowed full equality for its gay & lesbian couples. I just can't help but to follow Pam's House Blend as they track all the crazy fundie wingnuts' heads exploding. They say that "as Iowa goes, so goes the nation", so may this be the bellwether that starts moving the rest of the nation (including California) to marriage equality?

CNN's Polls of Polls Sez: Obama Lookin' Good

Hot off the presses! CNN has released its new "poll of polls" showing the polling averages in these states:

Georgia:
McCain 50%
Obama 44%

Iowa:
Obama 52%
McCain 39%

Missouri:
Obama 46%
McCain 46%

New Hampshire:
Obama 52%
McCain 42%

If this holds up, McBush is a goner. He only has 9 days to change everything? While we should be prepared for anything, I doubt this can happen so soon. We now need to work our hardest to seal the deal & make our victory BIG!

Ready to make some history & defeat the Bush-McCain radical right? ;-)

Tonight's Poll Report: Battleground Midwest

Courtesy of Political Wire, here are some new polls in three EXTREMELY IMPORTANT Midwest states:

Iowa-
Obama 55%
McCain 40%

Minnesota-
Obama 53%
McCain 41%

Ohio-
Obama 47%
McCain 45%

At this point, I'd dare to say Minnesota & Iowa are no longer "Toss-Up" states, but now "Lean Obama" states. Obama's been consistently ahead in both states, and while I can't yet say we have a lock on these states, I do think the door's closing fast on McCain. And as for Ohio, it's a relief to see Obama retake the lead here. The GOP's economic policies have caused the people here to suffer, so I don't know how McCain's been able to even keep it close here.

So overall, more good news... And more reason for us to keep working our tushies off 'til we win on November 4! :-)

New Rasmussen State Polls

You might recall that last last Friday, I wrote about the astonishing news that Rasmussen had Obama and McCain tied in North Dakota. Now comes the news from Rasmussen that Obama has put South Dakota into play:

McCain 44
Obama 40

(With leaners, McCain 47 and Obama 43.)

Iowa is also looking pretty decent in the most recent Rasmussen released today:

Obama 48
McCain 38

(With leaners, Obama 51, McCain 41.)

Michigan is also looking better for our party's candidate:

Obama 47
McCain 39

That means that Obama has widened his lead there by four points greater than the last poll.

Electoral Vote Dot Com now projects the following electoral vote distribution:

Obama 320
McCain 204
Ties 14*

*Missouri with 11 electoral votes and North Dakota with 3 electoral votes.
