Late Nite Open Thread: Friday Edition

Wow. Just wow. I guess the troops appreciate those that actually support them. I wonder how McBush will try to explain this away. I really don't think the troops want to fight perpetual war for perpetual "peace".

OK, enough at my surprise. What's been surprising you this week? This late nite open thread is for YOU. Tell me what's on your mind tonight.

OK, the floor's open... Chat away! ;-)

I'm just wondering if, after we've finished the "Government Fail" series, if maybe we want to compile it somewhere ... I know I'd like to be able to look back in 10 years and see how we've all helped shape the political landscape ...

Who's with me?

I'm not at all surprised that more overseas military folks are giving to Obama than McCain. My brother is in the Army National Guard, and though he is still stateside he knows many soldiers who have been deployed. He says most of the ones he knows support Obama, because they want this war OVER WITH! My husband is a Marine veteran of the Persian Gulf War, and he knows many pro-Obama vets, too. They don't trust McCain to bring home the troops from Iraq for the foreseeable future, and they think McCain is a hothead who is likely to get us into big conflicts with Iran and possibly North Korea and Pakistan. Groups like votevets.org, Vietnam Veterans Against John McCain and Veterans for Obama are really active this election season to get the word out that McCain will be a foreign policy disaster for this country.
