DemConWatch is counting the endorsements the two candidates have received. It observes:
As of 10/19, among the top 100 papers, Obama has been endorsed by papers with a circulation of 7.6 Million, McCain by papers with a circulation of 1.5 Million.
The News & Observer, Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina:
Today, a little more than two weeks from this critically important Election Day, The News & Observer, with pride and hope, in the belief that Obama is exactly what the nation needs at a time when the hills are steep and the winds against us are stiff, enthusiastically endorses him for president. His time has come. And these times have come to him.
The Oregonian, Portland, Oregon:
Obama has the best chance, and the best abilities, to rebuild an American economy that has grown dangerously unstable, with government, consumers and the nation itself spiraling deeply into debt and selling off the national future to pay for daily expenses. He is the best choice to rebuild the American position in the world, to restore our ties with traditional allies, to re-make the American argument to the rest of the world.
The Salt Lake Tribune, Salt Lake City, Utah:
Under the most intense scrutiny and attacks from both parties, Obama has shown the temperament, judgment, intellect and political acumen that are essential in a president that would lead the United States out of the crises created by President Bush, a complicit Congress and our own apathy.
The Houston Chronicle, Houston, Texas:
After carefully observing the Democratic and Republican nominees in drawn-out primary struggles as well as in the general campaign, including three debates, the Chronicle strongly believes that the ticket of Sens. Barack Obama and Joe Biden offers the best choice to lead the United States on a new course into the second decade of the 21st century.
The Denver Post, Denver, Colorado:
Obama has the eloquence and vision to bring us back together.

CorgiGuy: Thanks so much! We work really hard to keep everything current and lively here. We get a decent number of hits, but the comments are only few and far between, so I am flattered you took the time to write a note.
